Following the post con minimeet, it has been decided to have a proper
meet on Friday November 13th 1998 (This date rings a bell for some
reason 8-), at the usual location, the Victoria Hotel, Beeston, Notts.

As I seem to be organising this, I'll ask that anybody willing to
offer crash-space, and anybody requiring said sleeping area, get in
touch (or sort it out yourselves)
Directions will be posted neared the time (somebody remind me if they
haven't appeared by the week before 8-)

There's no number for this meet yet, because there's an unconfirmed
rumour of something happening round the Beer Festival in October

With just over a month to go, I think it's time I posted the
directions to the Nottingham Meet on 13th November, 7.30 pm.

Also, Naomi is looking for crash space for herself and Pam, so if
anybody can help, please let me know.

Any other problems/questions, just e-mail me

Directions to The Victoria Inn, Beeston (as lifted from an earlier
announce by mpk)

================
By train:
Take the train to Beeston. Walk out of the front of the station, and
head towards the centre of Beeston. Turn left down the second
substantial street you get to, which is Grove Street. Turn left at the
end. You'll come across the Victoria fairly soonish -- basically, you
can't miss it. It's actually right next to the station, but there's no
gate from the platform straight into the pub yard, unfortunately.

By road:

I'm assuming you're coming from the M1. If not, you'll need to find
your own way to the west end of Nottingham and the A52 (otherwise
known as the Derby Road). Leave the M1 at the A52 junction, which
IIRC is junction 25. It's signposted (IIRC, again *grin*) Nottingham
if you're coming from the North, and "Nottingham North" if you're
coming from the South. Follow signs towards Nottingham, and keep
going over two roundabouts until you're on a wide, three-lane road
with a 40 limit and running through a built-up area, which becomes the
Derby Road. After about a mile, you'll see a turning off to the right
signposted for Beeston -- the B6006, Wollaton Road. There's a filter
lane, and a filter arrow on the lights. (If you get to a big
roundabout next to the "Priory" restaurant, and with shops on the
left, you've gone too far -- spin round the roundabout, then the
Wollaton Road will be approx. the third on the left). Follow this road
around and keep going -- you'll pass through the centre of Beeston (a
pair of pedestrian crossings with pedestrian precincts on both sides)
and pass the fire station and the multi-storey on the right. Keep
going. When you get to a major crossroads with the Queens Road and
traffic lights (these are, I think, the *second* set of lights after
the centre), keep straight on towards the station, then turn first
right. If you go over the flyover, you've gone too far! Follow the
road and turn left at the next T-junction, and you'll see the Victoria
in front of you. Park where you can...

Just a line to all those going to the Notts meet, (or any others
that have the Saturday free and can make it).

I shall be making a small change to my usual routine, and therfore
there shall be Ice-Skating on the Saturday, rather than the sunday.

This means that anyone wishing to join me in doing so may just turn
up at the Ice Stadium...

The place will be the Nottingham Ice Stadium
The Session runs from 12:00 - 16:00

Entry Price is 3.50 in + 1.00 for skate hire...
Spectators should be between 1.00 - 1.50

Directions (for those not attending the Notts Meet...)

Train:

Take train To Nottingham. Once in Nottingham make your way to The
Broadmarsh Centre. Go though Broadmarsh Centre and follow paved area
to Lower Pavement. Follow to cross roads, go straight on to High
Pavement until you reach Bellar Gate. Turn left here, Ice Stadium is
over the road.

Car: (part of these are blatantly lifted from the earlier postings)

I'm assuming you're coming from the M1. If not, you'll need to find
your own way to the west end of Nottingham and the A52 (otherwise
known as the Derby Road). Leave the M1 at the A52 junction, which
IIRC is junction 25. Follow directions to Nottingham City Centre.
There is a Large NCP above the Bus Station. Be careful not to go
down to the Bus Station, and once cars are parked, just go down to
the bus station level and take the subway to the broadmarsh centre.
Go though Broadmarsh Centre and follow paved area to Lower Pavement.
Follow to cross roads, go straight on to High Pavement until you
reach Bellar Gate. Turn left here, Ice Stadium is over the road.

A map of the area should be on my webpages soon. It will be at;

Directions For those at the meet...

I shall have directions from Beeston with me on the night. If you
want to go skating on the Saturday, just ask for a copy... :)
