[As I write this, I'm listening to the joyful French strains of the
Te Deum by Michel-Richard de la Lande, court composer to Louis
Quatorze]

Soprano and counter-tenor duetting nicely by email[1], we have
arrived at the following suggestion for a meet, at which the AFP
Madrigal Cabal might once again rear its ugly head. At the very
least, the wizard's knob and our respective vocal cords will be
righteously polished.

Time: Saturday 16 January 1999
        Probably early evening/late afternoon start

Venue: NODNOL 198 SELIM

        One of
North London J.D.Wetherspoon's, Holloway Road _OR_
Central London Ditto in Tottenham Court Road
        (nicely close to Forbidden Planet)

Dress: Opera glasses, suitable Maskerade gear (twingtwangtwoing)
I will be coming as Enrico... I _am_ Enrico, so this should
be no surprise... pass the slumpie... mmf mmfmfmfffmmmmfff...
        (NO, NOT mezzo-forte)...
Perd^W Charissa suggests masks. Though she exercises
surprising (to this mole, at least) restraint in saying that
one cannot recognise afpers instantly... Ideas on dress
        welcome.

E-mail to this mole, please, as Charissa is hors de combat at the
moment.

In AFP speravimus, non confundamur in aeternum.[2]

Super flumina Ankhionis, illic sedimus et vomitavimus, dum
recordaremur Lancre.[2]

[1] Anyone suggesting "you make beautiful music together" will be
cabbaged. Enemy at 30 paces. Load brassica howitzer. Aim. Fire.

*ka-spoooot* *plotch*

Serve you right.

[2] Ppoints aplenty for correct (mis)translations and liturgical
attributions. There _is_ a clue in this post.

As if Hogswatch wasn't enough ('nuff respect, Alex),
this mole has teamed up with a soprano colleague to
offer the following meet:

When: 4pm onwards, 16 January 1999

Where: JD Wetherspoon, Tottenham Court Road
        (nicely close to Forbidden Planet?)

Bring: Masks, opera glasses, Nanny Ogg's knickers
        (twingtwangtwoing), full opera get-up if
desired. Musical scores, esp. opera or G&S[1]
I will be in my Enrico Basilica suit complete
        with singing waistcoat.[2]
        Cuddly toys.
        Quote file.

Directions to the Tottenham Court Road pub:

Go to Tottenham Court Road tube station (Northern and
Central Lines). After leaving the tube station walk
past Foyles bookshop; the pub is quite a way beyond
the bookshop on the right-hand side of the road.

[1] Not GidnSuzi (hugs), but they could very well be
bringing this along...

[2] The day anyone suggested this mole had a waist was
the day this mole laughed his little cotton socks off.
