It's the time of year, now that spring is in the air, when those two
wet gits^W^W old afp-farts from Ipswich decide to invite you all for a
couple of days of fun and frolics...

That's right, it's the (almost) inevitable - "It's a bank holiday, so
let's go to Butley and show the folks at the folk night just how loud
we can be" weekend.

The frivolities will commence on the Saturday. As a bit of a break
from tradition we will re-run the afp pot-luck dinner idea, this means
all the attendees bring along their favourite recipe to share - folks
who really cannot cook can opt to bring something that somebody else
has cooked, or something that does not need cooking. Bringing beer or
suchlike would also be a good idea. /me has thoughts of a whiskey
tasting..... Please could you let me have an idea of what foody type
things you will be doing for the Pot Luck (and if you will need cooking
facilities here), that way we will hopefully get a range of sweet and
savoury dishes rather than all the same type - exact details will not be
necessary of course.

This might also be a good time to bring along your video's of
children's TV classics (Please!) so we can have something to do while
the food is being prepared.

Eventually it will get to be Sunday, this will pass in a generally
relaxed state, walks through Pipers Vale (a pretty outdoorsy bit
next to the River Orwell) will probably be encouraged, other
suggestions are welcomed. Previous Butley meets have included trips to
the seaside and picnics in the woods but we could just do something
different this time.

When it gets to be Sunday night we will wend our merry way over to
Butley for the Folk Night at the Oyster Inn - be prepared to join in the
choruses and if you are any more talented to perform a song (or even
several songs) yourself. I wonder what they'd make of the DW Filks?

Exact details of how to find us will be sent out by private email, so
please remember to send me an email if you will be coming. We have a
reasonable amount of crash space available which can be reserved at the
same time.

Hope to see lots of you then!

Carol

A reminder....

Next weekend (May 1/2) sees the return of the (almost) inevitable -
"It's a bank holiday, so let's go to Butley and show the folks at the
folk night just how loud we can be" weekend.

The frivolities will commence on the Saturday with an afp pot-luck dinner
this means all the attendees bring along their favourite recipe to

reasonable amount of crash space available which can be reserved at the
same time. Anyone wanting to arrive early will be welcome from any
time on the Friday and we don't intend to actually *throw* anyone out
before we leave for work Tuesday morning

Hope lots of you can make it!
