Unseen Theatre Company presents another episode in the story of the intrepid City Watch, the law-enforcement officers of Ankh-Morpork who make the Keystone Cops look good.

Those of you who saw our production of "Men At Arms" may remember that our beloved Vimes earned a promotion to "Commander" of this constabulary.

Now he and his country bred, aristocratic wife Sybil have been sent by the Patrician as ambassadors to Uberwald - a country of Vampires, Werewolves and Dwarfs. A country which, according to the Patrician "remains a mystery inside a riddle wrapped in an enigma."

Vimes may now be a Duke but he is still not very good at diplomacy. He explains Uberwald as a "big suet pudding that everyone's suddenly > noticed" and the coronation of the Low King of the Dwarfs as "an excuse for everyone to rush there with knife, fork and spoon to shovel as much on their plates as possible."

He's right of course.

In diplomatic language though, Vimes's job is to establish trade links with the Low King. He is just a bit confused about why *he* was given the job. After all, as everyone knows "policemen don't go on holiday. Where you get policemen, you get crime." If he goes to Uberwald, there will be a crime.

He's right again...
