Go picking the the hazelnuts, 
picking the walnuts 
Did she go picking all the forest's nuts. 

O gay was her manner, and rising her bosom  
Red roses blooming on alabaster cheeks. 
When picking the the hazelnuts, 
Picking the walnuts 
The lady went picking all the forest's nuts. 

Returned to her manor, returned to her master 
Did Lady Gloriana the Duchess of Sto Lat 
Bearing the the hazelnuts, 
bearing the walnuts 
Having been picking all the forest's nuts.

Later that evening, just as May was beginning 
Did Mister Willy Baker, Games Warden of Sto Lat; 
Button his trousers 
Put on his jacket 
He had helped the lady pick all the forest's nuts.
