Please archive. That Discworld Religion Lyrics by Shane Bodrero TTTO "That Old-Time Religion" We will praise the Great A'Tuin For upon his back we all spin Or so says the wizzard Rincewind And that's good enough for me. Gimme that Discworld religion Gimme that Discworld religion Gimme that Discworld religion It's good enough for me. Great God Om will make us fertile Help us over every hurdle Incarnated as a turtle He's good enough for me. Oh the witches are the anchor Of the region known as Lancre They will even cure your canker If you bring a pot of tea. Oh the druids can assay Where your fields and farms should ley (A) Forty megalith array It's big enough for me. When you pull on the wrong lever Death will see you're none too clever And your lifeline he will sever <spoken> HAVING A BAD DAY, I SEE. Notes: 1. The last syllable in each line of the druid verse should be stretched. It's a bit clunky, but I liked the rhymes. If you can fix it so it scans better, feel free. 2. Send me more verses! Two possible subjects I didn't use are the Hogfather and octarine. 3. Do your best Boris Karloff on the last line of the Death verse. 4. When you download "That Old-Time Religion" off of Napster, make sure you get the Pete Seeger/Arlo Guthrie version and not the sanitized Tennessee Ernie Ford version. 5. Permission granted to Joe Bethancourt to include these verses in his "Real Old-Time Religion" project. Now, who wants to sing this at OVFF? :-) Regards, Shane Bodrero
