The French army in Venice retreats to Tuscany.

The French Army in Croatia retreats to Bosnia.

Suzi comments:

Why the move against France: France has been unstable, unpredictable and unreliable. Discussions had already taken place of going for a DIAS of 3 (excluding France) if the latest Draw proposal was vetoed again.

Risks: Germany could sneak through to a win if this is not played correctly by Egypt and Ukraine.

Expectations: DIAS of 3 between Egypt, Ukraine and Germany.

Personally I don't see the 'instability' in France which Suzi comments on, so I can't comment here, though I do feel that attacking France was a mistake, and exactly what Hippie has been waiting for.

The state of play in the 'Perdita' Game at S2011R

I hope that it IS pulled off successfully, but at the moment I don't see how.

The following table summarises the changing situation, detailing the number of units currently owned, the number of SC's and the number of available adjustments, after the number of free SCs has been considered. A positive adjust number means that builds are due, a negative number means that units are to be removed. Note, builds do not have to be taken, they can be waived - please send a waive order to the GM if you wish to do this.

Also detailed are the number of SC's required to win (the win condition is 33 SC's).

Egypt builds armies in Alexandria and Aswan, also a fleet in Cairo.

France disbands the armies in Madrid, Pie, and Bosnia.

Germany builds armies in Berlin, Frankfurt and Hamburg.

Ukraine builds an army in Sev.

By my calculation, Hippie now only needs three Supply Centres, and this can be done, luck will be needed to stop him.

Madrid can be kept from Hippie by bouncing Nav-Mad using Sve, but if Hippie fails to order Nav-Mad then Sve is left open. The fleet in Gibraltar must decide Gibraltar or Seville.

Assuming that Mikey fightm to stay alive, then Andalusa is likely to move toward Barcelona. Hippie would be well advised to attack Barcelona from Auvergne, with support of Navarra. This puts units in place for an attack on Madrid. (Though And can cut support if the attack comes from Barcelona)

With regard to Portugal and the Egyptian fleet in SAO, Germany is probably best running the risk of losing Portugal for the benfits of position around Spain. If Hippie can make one coastal space available for a convoyed army then Spain is as good as his.

A priority for Suzi, with the open coasts of Southern Spain is to get her army in there first.

It comes to this. Suzi needs to hold off Hippie long enough to bring an army into Spain. Hippie needs to slide around Suzi and get his armies in!

Hippie should order the following:

A Nav S A Auv-Bar
A Auv-Bar
A Mar-Auv
A Lyo S A Swi-Mar
A Swi-Mar
A Mun-Swi

Next phase, he should take Madrid using Barcelona with support from Nav, and use Auv to prevent Barcelona being occupied (or even to take Barcelona).

Suzi, in the meantime, must get a fleet into GoL, and thus be able to take Barcelona with support from Mikey (!) or help Mikey to keep Barcelona.

This is apart from the other duties of defence in this region....

Of course, the main deciding factor will be what Mikey does with his fleet in Spain.
