Pedantry

For a while I've been impressed by how much this group knows. And how much it *thinks* it knows. And by what mediaeval means those in Category A dispose of Category B. Into which this mole has, on occasion, been unwise enough to fall with a resounding *splat*.[1]

So, with apologies to Lennon and McCartney, and to the legions of others who have trod this turf before me, herewith another filk.

Pedantry,
Curse of half the posts on a.f.p.,
Now it looks as though it's got to me,
Oh, I've been caught by pedantry.

Suddenly,
I'm not half the mole I used to be,
With corrections hanging over me,
Oh, pedantry came suddenly.

Why they had to change my text,
I'm perplexed,
they wouldn't say;
I wrote something wrong,
now I long
For yesterday.

Pedantry
Feels quite different when they pedant me,
Now I need a hole to which to flee [2]-
Oh, I've been caught by pedantry.

[1] I'd be interested to see someone pedant Tamar, Gideon or Eelco successfully...
