Well, psuedo [R] right now, but any response is almost certain to be [I] anyway, so since this is borderline, I decided to go that way.

"Vetinari"
TUNE: Richard Cory (P. Simon, 1966)

They say that Vetinari rules without a throne or crown,
With politic machinations to keep rebellion down.
Ruling our society, his language full of guile,
He has everything a Lord could want: power, brains, style.

But I... am aristocracy
And I curse the fact he's living
And controls our fair city,
And I wish that I could be,
Oh, I wish that I could be,
Oh, I wish that I could be
Vetinari.

It's hard to scheme against him, spies are everywhere you go,
Vetinari's always watching you, Vetinari always knows.
And the rumor of the pit in which he tortures all the mimes,
Oh, the only man he can't control is Commander Vimes.

But I... am aristocracy
And I curse the fact he's living
And controls our fair city,
And I wish that I could be,
Oh, I wish that I could be,
Oh, I wish that I could be
Vetinari.

His fleeting grins are rarities, he doesn't smile much,
And if you're hateful of the Patrician, then you're out of luck,
For his mind is quick as thunder, and he thinks one step ahead,
Vetinari won't run and hide, Lord Vetinari wins instead.

But I... am aristocracy
And I curse the fact he's living
And controls our fair city,
And I wish that I could be,
Oh, I wish that I could be,
Oh, I wish that I could be
Vetinari.
