Leonard da Quirm

The da Quirm family is known for its eccentrics, such as Ponce da Quirm, who spent his entire life, from cradle to grave, looking for the Fountain of Youth. However, the family's breeding has struck a new milestone in Leonard, who designs siege engines in his sleep and whose scale-model rockets occasionally metamorphise into coffee percolators if he gets thirsty while building them. A truely good natured soul, he lives in an attic in the palace of Ankh-Morpork because Patrician Havelock Vetinari is scared to leave him out in the open.

Leonard's inventions turn up as early as Wyrd Sisters, and Leonard himself gets down to (and redesigns) brass tacks in:

Men At Arms.

Jingo.

The Fifth Elephant.

The Last Hero.
